Introduction to Editing

During the editing stage of writing, you pay close attention to your words and sentences, checking for any errors in style, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. This is also a good time to double check your use of sources to make sure you have properly documented any borrowed language or ideas. Sentence-level editing is different from global revision, which focuses more on larger issues of organization and support. Still, you should keep your overall audience and purpose in mind as you edit your draft.
