Derek: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I could see by the look on your face you already made your mind up. I'm the horrible person who's to blame for everything, and I made Daniel's life a living hell. Well, that's bull. Before you hop back up on your high horse and start blah, blahing at me some more, there are some things you need to know.

I love my brother. That's right. You heard me. I love that little punk. Daniel, that kid, he's going to be the death of me.

The things he does? Ever since he was born he was, well, different. I mean, you know him. The kid can't do anything the way he's supposed to. He can't even throw a football.

But that's just the way he is. And he's my brother. You're probably sitting there thinking, yeah, right. If you love him so much, why did you drive him from the house screaming? Well, I didn't.

My dad did. You think we have this perfect little family because every time you're around, everyone always puts on this big act. But my dad? My dad hates on Daniel all the time. He's relentless.

The past 20 years of my life, day in and day out, have been all about two things-- protecting Daniel and being the perfect son my dad always wanted. I mean, I'm all, there's winners and losers, son! What are you going to be? And, man up!

But Daniel? He's, no son of mine. And man, I did everything to toughen that kid up so my dad wouldn't be on him like he is. Remember that time I put him on a headlock and scrubbed his face till he cried? Yeah, well, if my dad saw him it would have been over.

And now, Daniel's gone and I'm glad for him. He told me he was going to bail and I've been helping him find a job and stuff. I made my escape when I left for school last year. My football scholarship's the one good thing I got from my dad riding me all my life like he did. And now, Daniel's free too.
