Woman: So you probably think I'm reaching out to you now to apologize. Well, you are sorely mistaken. I actually enjoyed watching you run all around like a chicken with its head cut off, squawking and squawking. It was hilarious. I mean, it was all I could do to just keep a straight face and not burst out laughing, especially when I saw you break down in the back room.
And crying? Really? Life is tough. And you need to learn how to suck it up. There are two kinds of people in the world-- those who roll tough and those who get bulldozed under.
And you seriously need to decide which one you're going to be. I certainly know which one I am. And in this situation, it was just your misfortune to be the one who got rolled under.
Yeah, I know. (mockingly) It was so unfair that I did what I did. And you've probably gone around and told everyone, (mockingly) how could she have done this to me after I've been such a good worker? Blah, blah, blah.
The real truth of the matter is that you should be thanking me instead of blaming me, because I have just given you something priceless-- something worth more than all the money in that pouch-- a lesson you'll never forget. Do you really think you'd have learned anything at all if I just picked up the pouch, handed it back to you, and politely asked you to not leave it lying around again? Heck no. You'd be doing the same thing again next week. And then I'd, once again, have to be your watch keeper, correcting your mistakes.
This way, I'll never have to worry about it again and neither will you. Every single time you pick up that pouch, you'll think of me. And you'll remember to put it where it belongs and not leave it where it shouldn't be.
