Pronouns have to be consistent in person, which is the point of view a writer uses. Pronouns may be in first person (I, we); second person (you); or third person (he, she, it, or they). (See the chart in “Pronouns.”)
INCONSISTENT PERSON | After a caller presses 1, you get a recording. [The sentence starts with the third person (a caller) but shifts to the second person (you).] |
