Figure 14.20 Müllerian mimicry. Müllerian mimics are a collection of unpalatable species that share a pattern of warning coloration. From four locations in Peru, researchers have found pairs of species of poison dart frogs that are unpalatable and closely resemble each other. For each location, the frog on the left is a particular species of unpalatable frog. In all four locations, the frog on the right is the unpalatable R. imitator, so named because in each location it has evolved to imitate the coloration of the other frog.
