This man may remember that the cabbage he’s holding is called bok choi. But if he doesn’t, he shouldn’t worry about it. It isn’t unusual for an older person to be unable to recall the name of a common object sometimes, but be able to recognize the name if someone else says it. This and other normal aging-related cognitive changes do not usually impair daily functioning.
