1. Compare the British-Indian alliance in the Revolutionary War with the British-Indian alliance in the War of 1812. Were there any reasons for men like Tecumseh to think that the alliance might work out better the second time? (See chapter 7.)

2. How do you think the Federalist supporters of the Constitution in 1787–1788 felt about the steady decline in states’ property qualifications for male voters that occurred between 1800 and 1824? Did the democratization of voting necessarily undermine the Constitution’s restrictions on direct democracy in the federal government? (See chapter 8.)
