Planning with sources

Writing practice: Planning with sources

Read three sources that you are considering for your research project. Ask yourself how each source will function in your project. Consult section R3-a to understand the various ways to use sources to develop your points. In the space below, write brief notes about what role each source will play in your paper. Will it offer background information, an explanation of a key term, an alternative interpretation, expert testimony, or something else?

Click Submit after each question to see feedback and to record your answer. After you have finished every question, your answers will be submitted to your instructor’s gradebook. You may review your answers by returning to the exercise at any time. (An exercise reports to the gradebook only if your instructor has assigned it.)
