Clustering, also called mapping, is like listing except that you arrange your ideas visually. Start by writing your narrowed topic in the center. Then, write the questions Why? What interests me? and What do I want to say? around the narrowed topic. Write at least three answers to each question. Keep branching out from the ideas until you feel you have fully explored your topic.
