New Kenyan initiative fights erosion and supports farmers (December 2014)
Synopsis
Terraces have become a new project in Kenya to help increase crop yields. With a rapidly growing population, there has been increased pressure on fertile lands, causing soil degradation and costing Kenya about 400 million dollars every year. The terraces will help prevent soil-erosion, and hopefully improve soil fertility.
