Although a number of short stories have been made into films, the most common approach is to adapt novels for films. Some popular books that have been turned into movies include The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown; Dracula by Bram Stoker; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson; the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling; The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins; Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen; The Road by Cormac McCarthy; The Shining by Stephen King; and the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.
