In your college writing, you will be expected to use and acknowledge secondary sources—books, articles, published or recorded interviews, Web sites, computer bulletin boards, lectures, and other print and nonprint materials—in addition to your own ideas, insights, and field research. The following information will help you decide what does and does not need to be acknowledged and will enable you to avoid plagiarizing from sources inadvertently.
