The written and audio accounts of Koepcke’s survival of a plane crash provide dramatic examples of how good stories can focus on unexpected life events. Record a narrative about an unexpected and significant event (positive or negative, serious or humorous) in your own life, or record an interview with someone else about a significant event in his or her life. (The event need not be dramatic, like Koepcke’s.) As you decide on a topic, think about your purpose and audience: What would you want your instructor and classmates to learn from reading about this event?
