adjective A word that modifies a noun or a pronoun, adding information about it.
adverb A word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
modifier A word, phrase, or clause functioning as an adjective or adverb that adds information about another word.
Distinguish adjectives from adverbs so that you select the correct forms of these modifiers. (See also R2-a.)
