Watch a video of a speech or attend a live public speech, and pay attention to how well the speaker uses the guidelines presented in this chapter. What is the speech’s topic, rhetorical purpose, and thesis? Does the speaker have an attention-getter and a clincher? Give an example of subordination in the speech, along with evidence of audience analysis. If the speech contains presentation aids, how well did the speaker use them? Finally, report whether you found the speaker credible and why.
