Set Up Your Interview

If possible, contact potential interview subjects in person. (It’s far easier for busy people to say no to an interview request via e-mail or over the telephone than face-to-face.) Identify yourself, explain that you’re preparing a speech, and describe what you hope to learn from the interview. You will need to be willing to accommodate the interviewee’s schedule.
