The Elevator Speech

ALEX: Oh, here let me get that for you.

KIM: Thank you. You're a lifesaver.

ALEX: No problem. I'm happy to help. I'm Alex.

KIM: Kim. Nice to meet you.

ALEX: So I see you work on the seventh floor. Do you happen to work at the Conservation League?

KIM: I do.

ALEX: That's awesome. I'm actually looking for an internship there. I'm graduating next year with a bachelor's degree in environmental science. And your organization has such a great reputation. Since my freshman year, I've been really involved in my school's environmental action club as well as writing for our newspaper's climate section. And last year, I actually organized a campus-wide eco fair where we held lectures, and we planted a campus community garden. I would love to pass along my information to you. If you could hand it out to anyone who might be looking for an intern.

KIM: Of course. Yeah.

ALEX: Yeah. Here you go.

KIM: Thank you.

ALEX: Yeah, thanks so much. It was great meeting you.

KIM: Nice meeting you, too. Bye.

ALEX: Have a good day.

KIM: You, too.
