The Word to Know: Indentured
The Oxford English Dictionary defines indentured as “bound by indentures, esp. as an apprentice or servant.” This form of forced labor expanded following the abolition of slavery and the advance of industrialization in the nineteenth century (see Legacies of the Great War). Based on your understanding of the Communist Manifesto, and the ideas of Karl Marx, write a Marxist “definition” of “indentured” labor.
