WHAT IS YOUR LEARNING STYLE?

Have you noticed that you do better with some types of academic assignments than with others? For example, you may prefer hands-on assignments to conducting research or vice versa. Do you find it is easier to learn from some instructors than from others? For example, you may prefer instructors who provide real-life examples or those who show relationships by drawing diagrams. Have you noticed that your friends study, solve problems, and approach assignments differently than you do? For example, you may be able to read printed information and recall it easily, but a friend may find it easier to learn from class lectures or an online video.

Each person learns and writes in a unique way, depending in part on his or her experiences, personality, and prior learning. Discovering the learning style that is right for you will give you an important advantage in all of your college courses. To assess your learning style, complete the Learning Style Inventory.
