Cahokia Pipe This pipe bowl excavated at Cahokia depicts a chunkey player preparing to roll the concave chunkey stone with his right hand. Chunkey stones are frequently found in Cahokian and other Mississippian burials, suggesting the importance of the chunkey game in their culture. The man shown here also wears the characteristic skull cap of chunkey players. © Ira Block/National Geographic Society/Corbis.
