VISUAL ACTIVITY Dr. Héctor P. García Héctor García, shown here with patients, came from Mexico as a boy and became a doctor. While leading the GI Forum, García treated all who needed medical care regardless of whether they could pay for it. An associate referred to García, who was active in politics, as “a man who in the space of one week delivers 20 babies, 20 speeches, and 20 thousand votes.” Héctor P.
