In his interview, Vinh-Thuy describes his revising approach, saying, “There’s no[t] really one time in which I go into the writing center. It’s all about how well I can write that particular essay or paper. I’ll go in at the point where I really do need help starting the paper or ending the paper, or gathering enough evidence. So it depends: I don’t only have one single location in my writing process that I need to visit the writing center for.” Vinh-Thuy’s flexible approach to revision allows him to get help only when he feels he needs it. You may prefer a more structured approach, with a plan to visit the writing center or your instructor after a particular draft. Whatever you approach, be sure to take full advantage of your resources as you revise: you instructor, the writing center, and your peers.
