Chapter 4, Additional Exercise 5: Monitoring Your Collaboration Skills
This project is for students who will work together in a collaborative team on another project. Each of you should keep a log of your experiences, covering such topics as the following:
- What procedures did the group use to assign tasks?
- What procedures did the group use to establish policies for meetings and for submitting work?
- How helpful were your contributions—and those of the other group members—both in meetings and in submitting work?
- How effective were you and the other members in establishing a cooperative and efficient environment for working?
- Did conflicts arise, and if so, how did you and the other group members try to resolve them? How effective were these efforts? How might they have been improved?
Meet as a group and discuss your logs. Then write a 1,000-word memo to your instructor presenting your findings. (See Chapter 14 for a discussion of memos.)
