Chapter 5, Additional Exercise 5: Interviewing a Student from Another Culture

Interview a student from a culture other than your own. If necessary, consult the international student office, the English department, or the English as a Second Language office. Choose one of the topics discussed in this chapter, such as gender roles, notions of time, or document standards, and write a 500-word memo to your instructor comparing and contrasting your culture's view with that of the other culture. (See Chapter 6 for a discussion of interviewing and Chapter 14 for a discussion of memos.)
