Chapter 12, Additional Exercise 4: Evaluating Computer Graphics
SmartDraw sells a software package for creating business graphics. The SmartDraw site presents numerous examples of the types of graphics the software produces. Study one of the examples to see the extent to which it conforms to the design principles discussed in Chapter 12 for that type of graphic. For instance, you might note that one of the examples of bar charts does not present the raw data or percentages represented by the bars or that the colors misrepresent the quantities being portrayed. Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of one or two of the other graphics. Be prepared to share your findings with the class.
