Chapter 12, Additional Exercise 12: Interviewing a Person Who Makes Graphics

Interview an engineer, a scientist, a technical communicator, or a graphic artist or illustrator who works in technical communication. Find out about his or her approaches to creating graphics. Ask about his or her education in graphics, use of tools or software, techniques for integrating graphics into the writing process, and views of the importance of graphics in communicating information. Write a 500-word memo to your instructor discussing what you discover. (See Chapter 6 for a discussion of interviewing and Chapter 14 for a discussion of memos.)
