YOUNG MAN: So I got a text from Karla this morning.
DAVE: I was going to tell you about that.
YOUNG MAN: Well, how about you let me in on it now.
DAVE: Listen, I can see you're angry. I saw Karla yesterday because she told me she needed some advice.
YOUNG MAN: From her text, it sounded like she was thanking us for more than just advice.
DAVE: Please, just listen. Karla and her friend, Deb, want to start a food truck. It's not a bad idea actually. With Karla's experience, and Deb's worked as a sous-chef for two years now.
YOUNG MAN: I need you to get to the punch line, Dave.
DAVE: Karla's looking for a loan. She's my sister. I want to help her out.
YOUNG MAN: I know you want to help her out. Look, I like Karla, but I don't want us to get involved in this.
DAVE: I told her I thought I could swing something.
YOUNG MAN: I guess by "I" you meant "we."
DAVE: I know I shouldn't have promised anything, but I want to encourage her.
YOUNG MAN: I understand that. But I don't want us to give her a loan. I thought we were saving up for a new car.
DAVE: I understand. I'll talk to her.
YOUNG MAN: Soon?
DAVE: Yeah.
