STUDENT 1: When I come to class, I'm in and I'm out. I'm going to school, and then I'm going to work. I don't have time to really just stop and go to a resource center. But I wouldn't even know where they were to begin with. So I feel like I'm not even missing out on anything. I've been going through school this long without it.

STUDENT 2: That happened to me last semester. I was having problems writing English papers. And my professor goes, well, we have an English lab. They could help you out. And I was like, we do? Where is it located? So he said, well, we have it, and you could print, and you don't have to pay for it, because you're taking the class, so basically you're paying for it already.

And just like, if you have any problem, they will help you out. And I was like, oh, wow. I'm going through all of this trouble, and there's actually people that could help me out. And for math, I saw that if I had any problems, I could just access MathXL, and you'll also teach me, and that's it.

And I saw myself, like, I don't understand this, this is being too complicated. One day, I'm walking around, and my professor goes, you didn't do too good in the quiz. And I was like, I didn't understand. I did the homework, but I didn't get it. She said, well, if you want, we have tutors on campus-- not just professors, but we also have students who tutor other students.

And I saw myself actually going a few times. And it's helped me out a lot. It has improved my GPA in a way I had never thought even possible. So at least knowing that I could do that, that there's people there actually that are willing to give me their time and help me with my problems-- it's been amazing. It's a very good experience.

STUDENT 1: You have time to be going to the labs?

STUDENT 2: My time is limited, but at least I try to make the time.

STUDENT 1: Mm, OK.

STUDENT 2: Even if it is just like 20 minutes in between classes, or if I have-- maybe a professor let us go out early, and I have maybe half an hour, I'll probably stop by. And I'm like, I have a question about this. Can you help me? And at least they've always been there. And if they don't have the answer, they will send me to somebody who does.

And I've actually used tutoring and the math lab and the English lab. And I'm looking forward to joining the criminal justice club, because it's in the field that I'm actually majoring in, so it's another step for me. I know that sometimes it conflicts with my class, but at least I could try to work something out.

STUDENT 3: I actually found out my advisor. I went through my whole first semester not knowing. I didn't know we had a writing center, math center, the tutors. By taking this class, it really helped me, because I struggled in math a lot. And by finding out from taking my professor's class, it really helped me increase my GPA and my grades, really, ever since first semester.
