STUDENT 1: When I'm taking notes during a lecture, I try to get the main points, the main stuff that is needed that I say, OK, this might be on a test. The extra stuff I don't try to-- I don't write down. I review my notes after class to help reiterate what was and what I wrote down, just to keep it fresh in my mind.
STUDENT 2: One thing I do do when I take notes is write down exactly what the professor says, but next to it, write down my paraphrase so that I make sure my paraphrase isn't missing anything.
STUDENT 3: Make sure that I listen for key words. So when my instructor says something like "this is important," or "this is going to be"-- "you're going to see this again," or "this may be on a test," those are the best ways to take notes, because if you actually listen to key words which your instructor says, you'll definitely do well on your test.
