Considering Disabilities: A TALKING DRAFT

Using a word processor with voice-recognition software will allow you to speak your ideas, which will then appear onscreen. A “talking” draft of this kind can be a very good way to get your initial draft done, especially if you have difficulty with the physical act of writing. If voice-recognition software isn’t available, try to find another student who will work with you to produce talking drafts: as one of you talks, the other types in what is being said. Your school’s office of disability services should be able to provide scribes or notetakers as well.
