(Description)
Two coordinate planes are drawn on the slide. The left coordinate plane is labeled Saudi Arabia. The horizontal axis is labeled as Quantity of cars. It is measured from 0 to 12 million. The vertical axis is labeled as Quantity of oil. It is measured from 0 to 900 million of barrels. A line passing through a point with coordinates, 0 and 800, and a point with coordinates, 4 and 0, is drawn on this coordinate plane. The right coordinate plane is labeled United States. The horizontal axis is labeled as Quantity of cars. It is measured from 0 to 12 million. The vertical axis is labeled as Quantity of oil. It is measured from 0 to 900 million of barrels. A line passing through a point with coordinates, 0 and 400, and a point with coordinates, 10 and 0, is drawn on this coordinate plane.

(Speaker)
In this question you were given that the United States will consume 500 million barrels of oil and six million cars.

(Description)
A point with coordinates, 6 and 500, is plotted on the coordinate plane Unites States. It is labeled as Consumption.

(Speaker)
And Saudi Arabia will consume 300 million barrels of oil and four million cars.

(Description)
A point with coordinates, 4 and 300, is plotted on the coordinate plane Saudi Arabia. It is labeled as Consumption.

(Speaker)
How many barrels of oil have they imported? How many cars did they export?

(Description)
Both Consumption points are removed from coordinate planes.

(Speaker)
Recall that Saudi Arabia is the only producer of oil and produces 800 million barrels of oil, which means they have exported.

(Description)
A point with coordinates, 4 and 300, is plotted on the coordinate plane Saudi Arabia. It is labeled as Consumption with trade. A vertical arrow towards this point is drawn. It has the following approximate coordinates: 4 and 800 for starting point, 4 and 300 for ending point. The arrow is labeled SA exports 800 million barrels of oil.

(Speaker)
The US has imported 500 million barrels of oil. The US produces 10 million cars, which means they have exported four million cars to Saudi Arabia.

(Description)
A point with coordinates, 6 and 500, is plotted on the coordinate plane Unites States. It is labeled as Consumption. A vertical arrow towards this point is drawn. It has the following approximate coordinates: 6 and 0 for starting point, 6 and 500 for ending point. The arrow is labeled U.S. imports 500 million barrels of oil. A horizontal arrow towards this point is drawn. It has the following approximate coordinates: 11 and 500 for starting point, 6 and 500 for ending point. The arrow is labeled U.S. exports 4 million cars. Another horizontal arrow towards the point Consumption with trade is drawn on the left coordinate plane. It has the following approximate coordinates: 0 and 300 for starting point, 4 and 300 for ending point. It has no label.

(Speaker)
The final part of the problem asks you to determine the price of a barrel of oil given the terms above and a car price of 10 thousand dollars.

(Description)
The following text is written below the coordinate planes: Saudi Arabia will trade 500 barrels of oil to the United States in exchange for 4 million cars. Each car will trade for 125 barrels of oil (500 over 4). If a car cost 10 thousand dollars then a barrel of oil will cost 10 thousand dollars divided by 125 equals 80 dollars.

(Speaker)
If Saudi Arabia and US trade 500 million barrels of oil for four million cars, then we can divide 500 by 4 and find one car will trade for 125 barrels of oil. If a car costs 10 thousand dollars, then a barrel of oil will cost 80 dollars, which is 10 thousand dollars divided by 125.
