MM15-a: Knowing your options
MM15-aKnowing your options for presenting and publishing multimodal works
The first step in deciding how to present or publish your project is knowing the different spaces available to you.
Your instructor may recommend specific presentation or publication spaces for your project. For instance, some schools have their own intranet where students can store projects. Your instructor may prefer that you upload your work to a course management site or system.
There are many other options to consider. You may need to poke around online or consult with peers about the following:
- Video-hosting sites: Web sites that allow you to upload video and that will generate a stable URL for your video. (One example: YouTube)
- Web-creation sites: Online tools that help you compile and create your own Web site. These often allow you to copy and paste text, add images, and create links. (One example: Weebly)
- Web-hosting sites: Online tools that allow you to upload your files and create your own Web site with a unique URL. These sites often have built-in Web-creation options, too. (One example: GoDaddy)
- Slide show creation and hosting sites: Web sites that allow you to build a slide show presentation and store it for others to view. (One example: Prezi)
