Explain

Include as much of the following information as is available:

  • the title of the film, italicized

  • the director (“Dir.”)

  • the lead actors (“Perf.”) or narrator (“Narr.”), if relevant

  • the name of the distributor

  • the year of release

  • the medium (such as “Film,” “DVD,” or “BD”)

Typically, begin with the title of the work, as in the first two models. But if your paper emphasizes a person or persons involved with the film, you may begin with those name(s) and title(s), as in the third example.

For any other work on DVD, such as an educational work or a game, cite as a film, giving whatever information is available, as in the fourth example.

Explain

  • Begin with the title of the feature, in quotation marks.

  • Add the names of important contributors to the film or to the feature.

  • Give the title of the film.

  • End with information about the DVD or BD: distributor, year, medium.

  • If the feature is on a numbered disc, give that number after the medium.
