Most teacher education programs require you to assemble a teaching portfolio before you graduate. The purpose of the portfolio is to provide an overview of your teaching experience and your teaching philosophy. The contents of portfolios vary, but common documents include the following:
a statement of teaching philosophy
a statement of professional goals
a résumé
self-evaluations or evaluations from your teaching mentors
sample course materials
Education departments at some institutions will require you to assemble an electronic portfolio as well as a print version.
