ESL: Placement of adverbs

The placement of adverbs varies from language to language. Unlike some languages, such as French and Spanish, English does not allow an adverb between a verb (poured) and its direct object (the liquid).

Example sentence with editing. Original sentence: In the last stage of our experiment, we poured slowly the liquid into the container. Revised sentence: In the last stage of our experiment, we slowly poured the liquid into the container.
