Literature reviews

For a review of the literature, you will read and synthesize published work on a nursing topic. Since as a nursing student you must read many scholarly articles about medical conditions and nursing practices, it is important to understand and stay current with the latest advances in the field. In a literature review, you summarize the arguments or findings of one or more journal articles or a larger body of recent scholarship on a topic. In some cases, you may be asked more specifically to analyze the works critically, evaluating whether the findings seem justified by the data. Such an assignment may be called a critical review.
