You might suggest the following questions and guidelines to your reviewers. You will use these same guidelines when you review other classmates’ work.
- Is the narrative focused around a main idea? Is it possible for readers to summarize the main idea in one sentence?
- Are the details vivid? Sufficient? Are there opportunities to tell the story more clearly?
- Are there opportunities to add dialogue? Would visuals deepen the impact of the story?
- Does the introduction bring readers into the world of the story?
- Does the conclusion provide a sense of the story’s importance?
These checklists provide guidelines for you and your reviewers.
