Google Docs is a free Web-based editor that allows teams to keep a single version of the document online. Using Google Docs, multiple authors can edit and revise the document simultaneously without having to wonder which version is most current. Commenting features can be used to suggest changes, and the revision history feature allows the team to track changes and reject revisions. However, Google Docs has far fewer formatting features than do desktop-based word-processing programs.
