Writing a Description

Write a description (500 to 1,000 words) of one of the following processes or a similar process with which you are familiar. Include appropriate graphics. In a note preceding the description, specify your audience and indicate the type of description (general or particular) you are writing. If you use secondary sources, cite them properly (see Appendix: Reference Handbook, Part A, for documentation systems).

  2. how a food co-op works

  3. how a suspension bridge is constructed

  4. how we see

  5. how a baseball player becomes a free agent

  6. how an angler cleans a fish

  7. how a fax machine operates

  8. how a student should study for a test

  9. how an audit is conducted

  10. how the owner of a recreational vehicle prepares the vehicle for winter storage
