Analyzing Graphics
On sites such as United States Census Bureau, Forbes, and Bloomberg Business’s Businessweek, find and print out a bar graph, a line graph, a pie chart, a diagram, a flowchart, and a photograph. For each graphic, write a brief evaluation that responds to the following questions:
Is the graphic necessary? Explain.
In what ways is it ethical, or in what ways does it misrepresent the information?
How professional is the graphic’s appearance?
How well does the graphic conform to the guidelines for that kind of graphic?
How effectively is the graphic integrated into the discussion it accompanies?
