1. The documents presented here demonstrate that medical events could both shape and be shaped by broader political concerns. In an essay, explain how the yellow fever crisis might provide insight into one of the following events: the Revolutionary War, the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, the passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts, or the election of 1800.
2. Historians often have to reconcile disagreements among the sources that they use, both in terms of the factual details presented and in regards to disagreements between sources about what those events meant. From among the sources presented in this unit, identify a significant point of disagreement. Then create a persuasive presentation for your classmates, using primary source evidence to defend your explanation for the discrepancy.
