Office of War Information, Japanese Relocation, War Relocation Authority Film, 1943

As the United States began the process of creating relocation camps and removing Japanese Americans from the West Coast, there were many questions raised regarding the actions of the War Relocation Authority (WRA). To inform the American public of the process and attempt to justify the removal, the Office of War Information created several films, including the one shown here, to run at movie theaters across the country during the war. This particular film was narrated by Milton Eisenhower, the first director of the WRA, who was replaced after just ninety days when he became frustrated by the treatment of the Japanese Americans.
