After completing one of the writing assignments presented in this chapter or supplied by your instructor, turn back to the After Writing questions in Chapter 3 and respond to as many of them as you can. While addressing these questions, it might be helpful to revisit your responses to the Learning by Doing activities Stating the Importance of Your Experience and Selecting and Arranging Events, if you completed them.
Next, reflect in writing about how you might apply the insights that you drew from this assignment to another situation—in or outside of college—in which you have to recall an experience. If no specific situations come to mind, imagine that
in a psychology course, you are planning to recall a stressful experience in a paper about the short- and long-term effects of stress on physical and mental health.
in a work setting, you are asked to recall an experience in which you had to show leadership skills or be an effective member of a team.
