Javier is a 16-year-old boy who likes to stay up late at night and listen to music. His older brother and sister have already left home. His mother works nights, and his dad is a heavy sleeper, so no one knows how late Javier is staying up. His father leaves for work before Javier gets up. Javier has a really hard time waking up and getting to school on time. He is active in music at school and plays in a small band after school in a friend's garage. His friends are into music and don't want to get involved in drugs. They are all basically good kids. Javier's grades are starting to fall, and he is not looking healthy. His mother is concerned that he might be running around with bad friends or doing drugs.
