Failure of Revenge Terrorists killed 11 staff members of Charlie Hebdo, a satirical weekly magazine, in Paris to protest publication of disrespectful cartoons of Mohammed, but their act of revenge had an opposite effect. Thousands of bouquets and mourners came to the site, some with a new slogan, “Je suis Charlie.” Five million copies of the publication were distributed. Public mourning, shown here, reaffirmed the value of an uncensored press. Sadly, a few people expressed revenge after the attack, killing more innocent people.
