Researchers at University of California, Berkeley, know that the neurons in this eight-week-old boy’s brain will show changes in brain activity as the patterns on the screen change. Electrodes on his head map those changes as he undergoes a color vision test. Every month of life up until age 2 shows increased electrical excitement in an infants’ brain.
