According to its Web site, the nonprofit group Oceana is “the largest international organization focused solely on ocean conservation.” Some of its programs are dedicated to protecting sea turtles and other ocean wildlife, promoting responsible fishing, halting ocean pollution caused by oil rigs and cruise ships, and preserving the marine environments of Belize and the Arctic. Like the Surfrider Foundation, Oceana is an organization that invites activism, with programs that help people take steps toward stopping the destruction of our oceans. The group also promotes their causes through advertising initiatives such as their “Fragile” campaign, a sample of which follows.
