You’ve decided to create an on-campus organization for a topic or cause that interests you. Your goal is to recruit people with similar interests for meetings, discussion, and more. As a first step, you decide to do some research to see what’s involved in creating a Facebook page for your new organization. Organization pages are similar to personal pages. They allow you to include cover and profile photos (like other Facebook pages), add stories and events, and more. (Unlike Facebook groups, they’re designed to be run by a single person.)
You’ll need to do some research on the Facebook site for similar organizations. You’ll also need to check into the technical specifics for things like the dimensions of cover photos and profile pictures.
For this project, you’ll be developing a mockup of your organization’s Facebook page so that you can see what the page will look like before actually committing to Facebook.
Create a mockup of the Facebook page in a layout or drawing program that includes the following:
- A cover photo or other image
- A profile picture or logo
- At least five other Facebook pages to like
- At least three stories from other Facebook pages to feature
- Three relevant posts, images, or events for your own organization
To re-create standard icons such as the Facebook “Like” button and banner, take a screenshot of an existing Facebook page and use a graphics program to cut portions of the images out so you can put them in your mockup.
