Overview

You’ve been lucky enough to land an internship at a local marketing and graphic design agency. You’ve completed several shorter assignments, mostly proofreading and making minor revisions to existing advertisements. Your supervisor, Ellen, seems happy with your work and is ready to give you your first “real” assignment: drafting a poster about online safety and privacy that will be displayed in a local high school.

Ellen tells you that the Parent-Teacher Association has been talking about cyberstalking incidents that have taken place at other schools. They’re not aware of any problems at their own school, but they want to get out in front of the issue before it’s too late. They don’t have any specific issues to deal with outside of online safety, a topic they say includes cyberstalking, sexting, privacy, and more.

They’d like to be able to print the posters on standard 8.5” x 11” paper on a color printer as needed, so they’ve asked you to give them the poster in PDF format. Ellen also wants you to create a short e-mail message that explains your approach and why you made the design and content decisions you made so that she can forward it to the client along with the PDF.
