ALEX: Bad news?

ROOMMATE: It's the contract for renewing the lease on the apartment, and I wanted to talk to you about--

ALEX: Oh, yeah. It's that time, I guess. Do you want me to sign somewhere?

ROOMMATE: Uh, I need to talk with you. It's important, and it's going to take awhile. Do you have anywhere to be? Is this a good time to chat?

ALEX: Yeah. Now is good. What's up?

ROOMMATE: I just want to talk to you about what to do about the apartment.

ALEX: OK. What about it?

ROOMMATE: Alex, I'm going to look for another place to live. I mean, on my own. I just don't feel that there's a solid connection between us anymore, not like there was when we first moved in here together. I think we're going in different directions and--

ALEX: Come on. What are you talking about? It's fine. It's just fine. Look, I know we disagree a lot lately. But so what? You think other people don't argue?
